Spring in Bolzano: Wine, Flowers, and Art for a Fresh Start

Bolzano, the gateway to the Dolomites, is a colorful place in spring!

Longer days, fresh air, walks through fragrant plants, along streams, or through blossoming orchards – these are the ingredients for spring in Bolzano. It’s the perfect season to hop on your bike and cycle through blooming apple orchards! Bolzano offers a rich calendar of events and initiatives that invite you to spend your days enjoying the city. There are plenty of opportunities to soak up the spring light and enjoy its captivating atmosphere.

From April 30 through May 1, the traditional Flower Festival will be held at Walther Square now in its 135th year.

Bolzano, the City of Wines: 

A constellation of prestigious labels and historic wine cellars with a modern spirit come together to celebrate South Tyrol’s oldest wine event. The Bolzano Wine Exhibition, now in its 98th edition, is the centerpiece of this celebration.

Set in one of Bolzano’s most captivating locations, Mareccio Castle, the exhibition will feature around 40 of the region’s top wineries. Attendees will also find renowned chefs, sommeliers, connoisseurs, and many other wine lovers.

Wine enthusiasts and budding connoisseurs alike will have the opportunity to sample approximately 180 wines, representing the diverse wine-growing regions of Bolzano and its environs, Oltradige and Bassa Atesina, the Isarco Valley, and Merano and Burgraviato—offering a true taste of South Tyrol’s rich viticultural heritage.

Festival for Textile Crafts, Art and Design

21st March - 23rd March, 2025

From March 21 to 23, 2025, the annual Festival for Textile Crafts, Art and Design will be held in the charming Mareccio Castle.

The Festival is the international gathering of textile creatives and professionals with encounters full of experiences and discoveries with the actors of selected manufactures. A unique opportunity to come into direct contact with the masters and exhibitors and participate in a program of lectures or seminars on craftsmanship, design and sustainability. The festival celebrates a creative atmosphere with exceptional products.
